SGP Site Weekly Coordination Meeting

Site Operations Status 

  1. Data Availability
    1. Preliminary data availability for last week is 99.2%.
    2. Reports are available on OMIS at: http://www.ops.sgp.arm.gov/
  1. Outstanding Availability Issues:
    1. ECOR, SIRS, SMOS, SWATS:E5 – The SDS log shows the site stopped sending files at 0100 GMT.  Missing data should be recovered.
    2. MFRSR:E16 – On 2/11 the instrument stopped sending files at 2200 GMT. Missing data may be recovered.
    3. MWR:B1 - On 2/8 found the computer powered off and replaced at 1740 GMT. On 2/10 found the instrument inoperative and remotely restarted at 1406 GMT. Missing data is not recoverable.
  1. Offline:
    1. MFRSR: E2, E5, E8, E10, E15, E19, E20, E22
    2. SWATS: E18
    3. AERI01: C1
    4. RWP915: C1, I1
    5. UVSR: C1
    6. NIMFR: E13
    7. MWR: B4

 

Site Data Quality Status

  1. EBBR:E20 – Soil Moisture data for probes 2, 3, 4 and 5 looks suspicious. Will continue to monitor and discuss with mentor before opening a DQPR.     

 

SGP SDS Status 

  1. Kevin Widener has developed software to monitor MMCR data collection space.

ECR Status 

  1. Nothing right now.

 

Site Development Status

  1. Storage expansion construction is finished.

Instrument Updates

1.   We are switching to global positioning radiosondes. Vaisala is offering the RS92 GP’s at the same RS92 KL price.  

Field Campaigns

  1. AIRS: The phase II AIRS launches continue at the CF.
  2. AURA/TES: Ozonesondes will be launched along side standard radiosondes.  
  3. CO2 LIDAR Validation: Still no word from Mike Dobbs.
  4. PGS: Continues as scheduled.
  5. CLASIC: Will be underway within 16 months.  
  6. HydroKansas: We need to iron out details regarding maintenance expectations. Maintenance instruction may need to be cut down. Current instructions would require too much time.
