Site Operations Status 

  1. Data Availability
    1. Preliminary data availability for last week is 99.7%.
    2. Reports are available on OMIS at: http://www.ops.sgp.arm.gov/
  1. Outstanding Availability Issues:
    1. SIRS:E2 – On 3/15 found the logger inoperative and cycled the power to restart at 1900 GMT. Missing data is not recoverable.
  1. Offline:
    1. MFRSR: E2, E5, E8, E10, E15, E19, E20, E22
    2. SWATS: E18
    3. AERI01: C1 
    4. UVSR: C1
    5. NIMFR: E13

Site Data Quality Status

  1. THWAPS:B6 – Relative humidity flags tripped on 3/11 from 1140 – 1500 UTC.

SGP SDS Status 

  1. Ron Reed installed a DSL line at Vici this week.

ECR Status 

  1. ECR 572 – Joe Michalsky will work to establish a diffuse horizontal shortwave irradiance measurement standard. The ARM standard will be based on performance during IOP’s.

 

Site Development Status

  1. Nothing right now.

Instrument Updates

1.   The work associated with the removal of pyrgeometer calibration bias outlined in BCR 01162 is complete.     

Field Campaigns

  1. AIRS: The phase II AIRS launches continue at the CF.
  2. CO2 LIDAR Validation: Still no word from Mike Dobbs.
  3. PGS: A contract is being worked out to continue PGS.
  4. CLASIC: Will be underway within 15 months.  
  5. HydroKansas: Rain gauge calibrations and stream gauge surveying continues.
  6. Magnetic Field Observations: Work will begin in the next week or so to install a magnetometer at Purcell.
  7. SGP Radon Measurements of Atmospheric Mixing (RAMIX): Radon will be used as a tracer to measure vertical mixing between the surface layer, boundary layer, and free troposphere. Concentrations of Radon will be measured from the 60 m tower.  Preparations for this campaign are underway.
