CIMMS Outreach and Education

CIMMS carries out outreach and education programs to educate, engage, advise and inform the public, teachers and students; These efforts support NOAA’s cross-cutting priority to promote environmental literacy.

Outreach and educational activities will lead to:

  1. Public awareness of mesoscale meteorological phenomena and their potential impact on people’s lives
  2. Enlightened college interns guided by mentors through unique summer research projects
  3. K-12 teachers in Oklahoma and Kansas equipped with valuable ideas and resources for teaching weather and climate concepts
  4. Diverse, outstanding graduate students
