- 56.1 % of all reports were modified
- 45.5% of all reports had at least one field (begin or end time or location) off by at least 5 km or 5 min
- ~28% of all times are at least 5 min in error
- ~15% of all locations are at least 5 km in error
- Most of the time differences were in the -5 to -9 min bin:
- There is an obvious "late" bias in the times
- Most likely due to differences between the actual time of the tornado and the time the report was relayed to the NWSFO
-
- There are a few reports off by one hour - probably due to incorrect conversion between UTC and Daylight or Standard time
- There are a few reports in the -25 to -40 min range which are probably a combination of the above error, and the report lag
- Location differences may be due to recording the location of the storm spotter rather than the actual location of the tornado
