Definitions
Severe Storm: A deep, moist convective storm (DMC) that produces one or more of the following events:
- Hail with a diameter > 2 cm
- Nontornadic wind gust > 25 m s-1 (~80 km hr-1)
- Tornado (including waterspouts)
Identifies DMCs with capacity to produce damage and casualties
